It’s that time again… Who’s up for a giveaway… or 5?! Thread Riding Hood turned 2 on July 12th and I’m in the mood to celebrate!
First off, a huge thank you to YOU! My husband can attest to the fact that that I exclaim excitedly (almost daily)Â about the number of people who have commented on, liked or visited Thread Riding Hood that day. I am so grateful to you for reading, without all of you I could not continue writing. There would not be a reason to post tutorials and new information if there was no one to read it… I cannot thank you enough. Your comments always make me smile, because it means I get to have a conversation with you! I am so grateful that you have taken the time to write something, it means a lot to me.
I have several amazing comments I keep posted on the inspiration board above my sewing machine. They remind me, maybe when it is 2 am and a post is due… or when I have had a not-so productive day, that my job is amazing! And that I so, so love what I do. I am in awe, still, every time I reflect on the fact that I’m close to being able to make this a job, like a real job… with enough income to warrant the amount of time I spend on it! It’s those moments, where I realize that I might soon be able to have a job that isn’t a job – where the “work” is play and I love coming to work every day. And it’s all because of you…
I would love to be able to meet all of you in person and give you something tangible to say thanks. Last year, I was able to post for two weeks straight… but, this year my family is on vacation this week and it isn’t practical. (Also, seeing as how I almost killed myself putting the posts up last year… big beginner mistake! I figured I shouldn’t do that again!) So… I decided to do a giveaway. And then I thought maybe I should split up the giveaway prize into 5 mini-giveaways so 5 people could win instead of only one. So that is what I have done.
Each day this week I will post a new giveaway. Each giveaway will stay open until midnight on July 21, 2014 (EST). The giveaways are separate, so come back each day to find out what that day’s prize is and to enter for a chance to win! I’ve got everything from notions to fabric, vintage to handmade. The giveaways are open internationally – so everyone has a chance to win! Enter on the Rafflecopter widget below – and if you don’t have Facebook to sign in with, just use your name and email!
Today’s giveaway is a lovely bundle of Anna Maria Horner Pretty Potent fat eighth’s + a little matchy vintage love – some “extra wide” bias tape and “29 cent” rick rack! I saved half of the Pretty Potent bundle I used make my insulated lunch sack last month. I hope you like it!
I would love to see a sew a long for Christmas toys for kids.
Just love to see what you are making. But sewalongs and tutorials are always great. I especially love to sew gift items.

I agree I think you are great at fun projects and a sew along or quilt along for small projects would be great
More DIYs please :))
Seeing what is made is great inspiration
I have loved following you over these past couple years! You’ve given me lots of inspiration for multiple occasions! I’ve really been into pattern hacks and general sewing tutorials. And while I do sew mostly for my children, I tend to click on the woman’s wear posts first, so maybe indulge yourself in some more selfish sewing, for the blog of course 😉
LOVE your site 🙂 Congrats on 2 years and all you’ve achieved in that time!
I love your clothing tutorials! Keep doing what you’re doing, your blog is awesome!
Love any tutorials, or sew alongs. Love scarp buster posts 🙂

I love your tutorials and would love to see some more Canada, Toronto specific content (I am located in Hamilton). It seems like a lot of the big bloggers are US based – it is nice to see someone Canadian!
Would love to see some Christmas project inspiration! (yes I start Christmas stuff in July :P)
I looked through your whole blog. I can’t see that you are missing anything, How about a quilt as you go project or a T-shirt quilt tutorial?

Congrats on 2 years!! Love seeing new and innovative things. Keep them coming!
I’d love to see more of the same! I think you’ve found the perfect formula for your followers. Thank you so much for your feature of all the Canadian online fabric stores! I used to order all my fabric from the US, but now I’m happy to say the majority of my orders are from Canadian shops, where there’s actually a person who seems to care and obviously takes the time to prepare my order. I also love your tutorials. I’ll admit I don’t follow your quiet book ones because my kids are a tad too old, but ones like your fabric trays and sunny glasses case are right up my alley. Thanks again, and congrats on your first 2 years!
Sherri, your tutorials are detailed & sew inspirational. I’d love to see you do a sew-a-long of some sort, interviews with the owners of the Canadian online fabric shops, and of course giveways are fantastic!

I am mainly a quilter so I enjoy quilting tips and tutorials. However, with 4 little granddaughters (ages 5 – newborn), I am just getting into the 18″ doll (American Girl type) clothes-making to keep their dolls fashionable clothed. Tutorials for that would be welcomed too.
I follow you on Bloglovin.
I am a new follower, but I love tutorials with lots of photos and photos of pretty things, ie. fabric 🙂

Quilt sew along are my favorite, and thanks for the list for canadian fabric stores, very helpful. I have purchased fabric from several of them, one of my fav’s is canadian national, you can buy half yards at only 3 dollars, great deal, wish more stores would do that.
I am new to your blog. I am going to be looking around.
I’d love to see more small, simple projects (good for newbies like me). :o)
Hello – I am new here and see that you have Canadian shops listed. PERFECT! Thank you!!

I love the creative spark I receive when looking at other quilters projects. Just keep creating your wonderful projects. The giveaway is a nice package.
$.29 cent bias tape… a real vintage item.
Ooo Love the fabrics!
I love any type of tutorial. Right now I have a 2 yr old Granddaughter (and her parents) living with my husband and myself so anything I can make for her is great. She’s wearing size 2’s right now but soon will be into size 3 and like any little girl, she LOVES purses or anything she can hide things inside to carry around with her. OH heck, she loves anything Grandma gives or makes for her. LOL I also love tutorials for things I can make to use around the house.
Anything too for little boys would be awesome. I have a grandson who is about 8 months older than my 2 yr old Granddaughter and finding things to make for him is tough.
Oh heck, ANY tutorial is great. I’m still going to come read the blog. lol
Such fun fabric, thanks for the opportunity!
I’m a new follower, so for now I’m just having fun looking around. 🙂
Tutorials on applique would be a great thing. Thank you
I love sewing tutorials. I always like to learn something new.

I love sew a longs as they motivate me to get something done!
omg… just realized at the last minute where the questions were…. I should mention I have three small kids (and zero brain power left)! What would I like to see more of on your blog? Honestly, I love it as is 🙂 But if I have to come up with something…. maybe some upcycling????
I’m new here 🙂 I love tutorials and pretty fabric though! I’m excited to follow. Thanks for the giveaways!
